Dp stuck in Madrid til friday....any recommendations for things to visit places to go whilst he's waiting to get home?

As the title really, he finishes work today, was due to fly back this pm, as far as he knows he will now bethere til friday.

I've told him to try and think of it as a holiday now he has now work to do- we are moving house when he gets back so good chance to have a rest first!

So, any suggestions for what to do whilst he is there?

Prado museum here is one of the biggest in the world.

Get a train to El escorial, fantastic palace of King Philip,

There are coaches going to ports so perhaps he could catch one of them?

hello,i have just moved myself to madrid,and was planning to return to uk with my van before june,when my green card for driving here will run out.well if your hubby had actually been in madrid i could have met up with him today or tomorrow,and he could have purchased my luton off me which i no longer requre,its a bit old but very low milage(pfizers uk owned it from neew before me,it eisily got me here full of my stuff and i,m sure its got many thousands of miles left in it,he would have two options ,drive to calais,or santander to go on ark royal or one of other two ships as gordon brown is promising.how much ,not looking to gain financially like the hotels,taxi companies etc.£1100 which is the value of the van there in uk.0772 0136955 (obviously roaming)wass thinking of driving to madrid airport and offering it for sale there ,have all documents with me ,mot,tax ,log book.the works.but be quick if interested,girlfriend says train from barcelona to madrid is about £120

just that you had mentioned you were plannig a move back there ,so might kill two birds with one stone ,drive from madrid to santander or bilbao is five hours (250miles)
