Hi We're thinking of a holiday to France but have 2 under 5 and the standard hotel doesn't offer all the things that we would like. Someone recommended "Key Camps" which I have never heard of before. They said that it is an ideal holiday with active young children as there are activities onsite for the kids and you can go on short trips each day (own car) so all in all everyone is happy.

We usually find that the standard hotel is too cramped for us, perhaps this would offer an environment that is more suitable to an active family?

Would love to hear of any experiences that you have had!! Either at Key Camps or other places that are family friendly in any area of France.

Thanks!

We went to a key camp when I was 13 and it was fab then. It was at St Jeans dfe Monts in the Vendee (west) below Brittany. The beaches are fab too and the weather was very hot. Key camp were very professional. I know that's 16 yrs ago though but I'm sure someone will tell you what they're like now!
From my point of view as a child then though, it was great because we did go on day trips every day but still had the outdoor pools, a restaurant and clubs to come back to. The accomodation was really good then so it would be way better now I'm sure.

If you do a search on here for Keycamps (no space between!), you'll find more information than you could ever have hoped for! Try also, Canvas, Siblu and Matthew Holidays - all the same sort of thing!

Personally I prefer having more solid walls so would suggest Pierre et Vacances holiday villages and also went to the Vendee here with Wake Up in France (courtesy of MN ) a few years back. If you look at the Review section you'll find comments on other similar places under Shorthaul and Camping. hth
