I know this is a really weird suggestion. Going to Haven on mon for 4 nights. The person who was looking after kitten has let me down and im wondering if I would get away with taking him with me. He doesnt go out at the mo.

can he not go to a cattery? the one we use is lovely and cosy for them?

Is the caravan you have booked a dog friendly one? If so then I suppose you arn't being totally U but if it is a pet free caravan then you would be being quite selfish to take any animal.

Do Haven allow animals at all?

If they do then you can, but they probably charge, so you should tell them that's what you are doing & offer to pay.

If they don't then no, you shouldn't, as someone with a pet allergy could follow you in & have an attack.

Oh, please don't. My Mum's neighbour's house is rented out as a pet-free holiday house. A family 'secretly' brought their dog, and the next family had to leave in the middle of the first night of their holiday in a house they had been told eas pet-free because their small son was having such a bad allergic reaction he had to be taken to hospital.

"We welcome well-trained dogs in selected accommodation at many Parks, but reserve the right to refuse certain breeds. We charge £40 per dog per 8/7/6 nights and £20 per dog per 5/4/3 nights with a maximum of two dogs per booking.
Other pets: These may be permitted at the discretion of the Park General Manager. Please contact the Park direct to discuss charges prior to making your booking.
No pets: Parks that do not permit animals are clearly identified on the individual Park pages."

I really wouldn't, I am horribly allergic to cats and if I came to stay in a room where a cat had been previously it would cause me serious breathing problems. Definately look into a cattery

nickschick · 10/04/2010 22:03

Theoretically you could, they dont 'check' on you.

BUT

Our own ds1 has a slight allergy to cats and we did stay in a chalet once where I was convinced theyd had a cat there despite it not being 'allowed'(they have pet chalets for pet holidayers)you could argue that a chalet is supposed to be cleaned out after your stay so any potential allergens would be cleaned away however some holiday homes are not as clean as you might expect.

crikey thats awful about the allergic attack!

found this that might be useful on the haven site

"Dogs are only welcome in Standard or Standard Plus Holiday Homes at all Parks except Burnham-on-Sea, Riviere Sands, or Dinner, Bed & Breakfast holiday homes. The supplement to bring your dog is £40 per week and £20 per short break (up to a maximum of two dogs per holiday home).

We reserve the right to decline the following breeds:

Pitbull Terrier
Dogo Argentino
Filo Brasiliero
Japanese Tosa

Please note: The management reserve the right to exclude any of the afore mentioned breeds if brought to our Parks, along with any dog which is out of control and/or showing signs of aggression.

There?s no charge for Registered Assistance dogs for disabled guests, in Self-Catering or Dinner, Bed & Breakfast accommodation. No other dogs are allowed in Dinner, Bed & Breakfast accommodation. If booking on-line, please exclude your Assistance dog from your booking then call our Customer Care team on 0871 230 1930 and press 1 between 9am and 7pm Monday to Saturday to add them on.

For other pets, please contact the Park directly i.e. cats, hamsters, budgies etc. Their telephone number can be found by clicking on your chosen Park below."

I know, I know, I need a life LOL.
