villa or mobile home - wwyd?

DH and I are going to Italy in July for a week. DH wants to stay in a villa in a mountain village. No pool and playground on village. I think DCs (2 and 4) or at least the eldest DC will get bored and have suggested a mobile home on a campsite near the beach.Pool and playground on site. Its not what I woudl have picked pre children but there you go. WWYD?

Could you try to find a villa in a mountain village that still has a pool or other facilities as a compromise.

We go through this every year and end up doing the mobile home because there's more onsite for the dc's. I'd like to find an alternative, so am watching.

We could look for somewhere with a pool but I think my main point is a matter of convenience. Campsite = lots of children and facilities = playmates for DCs and easier time for us.

I don't know. Maybe I am wrong.

I would say the children def be happier in a mobile home complex with lots to do and other children to play with.

We are going to France to a gite complex where there will be other families, pool, bikes, playgrounds and other sports stuff.

Happy children = happy adults!!

It's a difficult one - when my DS was little, we tended to go to the more isolated places as I felt he was easier to entertain (probably more easily pleased). As he got older I actively sought venues that had pools, more children and potential for activities. He is a teen now and would be thoroughly peed off if we took him up a mountain without the facility to make new friends.

The gite complex sounds great. Something similar in Italy would be great.

I have hunted the internet for something similar in Italy, without success!! Seems v popular in France but not Italy. There is a great website totstofrance.co.uk who now also have totstoitaly.co.uk so have a look there.

Good luck, happy holidays.
