Blackpool - any ideas what to do with 9 & 2.5 year olds

We are going for the weekend, and hoping that the weather will be nice so we can do the old fashioned day on the beach experience (complete with donkey rides). Does anyone have any suggestions for if the weather is bad. I thought about the tower, but it seems quite expensive. Has anyone done it ?
Any other ideas about what we can do to keep the kids entertained ?

Hi POps. Ooh I just love Blackpool - you'll all have such a fab time.

The tower is fairly pricey, but is well worth a visit and you could spend a whole day there to get your money's worth. Also good for a rainy day is the sealife centre or the sand castle - a big indoor water park up near the plaesure beach.
