Are the museums hellish in London on a sunday?

I made the mistake of asking DD if she'd like to go to London tomorrow - but realised that it is sunday - are the museums going to be hideous? I was thinking about taking her to the science museum.

We went to the natural history museum last saturday.
We got there earlier than we'd planned to - it was just as it was opening really. That worked out really good.
When we left later, there was a huge queue to get in.

(My DD's now started school so am just getting used to having to go to these places on the same days as everyone else is).

we went during the summer holidays , the only really hellish bit was queing up for food

Excellent - will aim to get there for opening.

Which museum is best for a 5 year old? She's been to the natural history before and loved that - I haven't been there for years but quite fancy going again. Am torn between that and the science museum - What is the Lauchpad like?

science museum is great for younger kids, go to the basement last as you wont be able to drag them out.
