Me, my DH and our toddler son would like to go to Sardinia for a holiday and want some recommendations. Towns to stay in villa rental companies, places of interest. We will fly into
Olbia for the last 2 weeks in August.

Cheers

Hi. We went last summer with our kids (7 & 2) with this company www.freelance-holidays.co.uk/area_detail.php?area_id=41

Monte Pedrosu was v. small and you do need a car to get to the beach, but is so hot in August you wouldn't want to walk anyway. We went to lots of small beaches and was beautiful.

San Teodoro is the nearest big town with a night market but we preferred our local town of Porto San Paolo for eating out and ice cream! We did find eating out v. expensive though! HTH

Just remember that Sardinia is an expensive destination and even more so with the current exchange rate. Don't discount hotel accommodation. Although I visited South Sardinia last year, I booked the flights & accommodation separately and found during my research prior to booking that luxury self catering was more expensive than HB at a luxury resort. IMO, self catering would not necessarily be the cheaper option in Sardinia. I was looking at the usual ownersdirect and holidaylettings websites & compared them to Citalia, Holiday Options & Just Sardinia. If you haven't booked your flights already, I would also personally avoid August - it will be heaving as well as being roasting hot! Since you have a toddler, I would take advantage of avoiding school holidays and go in June or September. We have more or less decided to visit Sardinia again this year - still dithering about location though.
