Dh and I are thinking of going to Cyprus for our summer holiday this year and I'd like your recommendations for hotels / apartments.

We're going with our 2dc's (10 and 4) so we need things to keep them amused and I'd like tthem to have their own bedroom - I can't think of anything worse than us all squeezing into 1 room for 2 weeks!

Any recommendations would be great.

HP thank you so much! It's so nice to have all this info - it's making me really excited about going!

Board basis - hmmmmm well we're easy really! I don't like all inclusive because I don't want to feel we are stuck to a resort having paid for food! Same with half board really. So I guess self catering (of which I intend to do none and eat out all the time ) or B&B type thing would be good with the kids (although they are bloomin fussy eaters!

Dates we are stuck with school holidays - we thought May and October we wouldn't get the best of the weather so we're probably looking at July / August. Specifically 24th July - 5th September. We're thinking minimum 10 days possibly 2 weeks depending on price.

Hotels wise I'd be looking at 4* upwards really or 3+ possibly and not all stuffed in one small hotel room - it's usually best if they have apartments or family rooms. We usually go with a large tour operator just to take the stress out of organising excursions and airport transfers and stuff but we could book it all seperatly. Infact we were going to with the initial plan of staying at our friends villa!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!! xxxxxx

wow that villa looks beautiful - same problem as before though, it's a bit on the large size for just us!

Yes it maybe on the large side - there's only me, DH our two DCs of 2 and 4 and my Granny, but the pool safety, location and all that comes with it made my mind up!

OK. 4* Hotels that are nice would be
Anastasia and Golden Coast, perfect for kids, nice pools (esp Golden Coast) and lovely locations. Both in Pernera, Golden Coast a wee bit further out but worth the walk.

3* Hotels Cavo Maris and Mimosa (Mimosa quite far out though, the other way, towards Ayia Napa)

Self Catering
Andreotis have 2bed apts, Nausicca beach very nice, Brilliant and Livas nice but not quite so lovely.

If you want prices you could email my travel agent Amanda who booked my flights this year (I promise it's not me touting for business, she lives down near Brighton and I'm near Newcastle) she's a travel counsellor and you could google her or here's her page amanda
Anyway good luck and happy to help!

Well if you email Amanda she can get you prices, save you going to travel agents anyhow. Let us know where you end up going!!!

Just wanted to pop back and say thanks so much for all your help. We got down to a choice between Golden Coast and Capo Bay but we decided ultimatly we wanted to be more central so we've booked with Capo Bay and it looks amazing!
Woohoo - thanks again!
