Don't they have loads in Natural History Museum in London, including a massive skeleton?

Fimbo · 03/07/2005 22:30

There is a Dinosaur Park near Norwich - hang on and I will try to find a link.......

charleepeters · 03/07/2005 22:30

natural history museum in London has dinosaurs in - well it did when i went there but that was years ago - have a look. here

Caligula · 03/07/2005 22:32

If you're anywhere near South East London, the Horniman Museum in Forest Hill has a great dinosaur bit, as well as fossils and possibly the best fishy bit in London outside of the London Aquarium.

Fimbo · 03/07/2005 22:33

Not Sure If This Is Exactly What You Had In Mind!!!

galaxy · 03/07/2005 22:36

Natural History Museum is good for this

Aero · 03/07/2005 22:39

Fimbo - that is just the best place for a day out (if you live near or are on holiday there like we were) - My lot totally loved this place and there's loads to do for a whole day out. Take a picnic though as eating here is expensive. It costs a bit to get in but is worth every penny.
Natural History Museum also gets my vote if you're close enough.

Aero · 03/07/2005 22:41

Oh - forgot about the Horniman Museum. It has loads of other interesting things to do there too as well as the dinosaurs.

Fran1 · 03/07/2005 22:41

Are you anywhere near Crystal Palace?

Lovely big park with enormous dinosaur models dotted all over the place, also a small petting zoo ( at least there was when i was last there!)

ScrewballMuppet · 03/07/2005 22:43

Thanks!!! they are all a distance away but exactly what I'm looking for - I might take the kids and stay over night make it an adventure for them.
I'll price it up

I used to live round the corner from Crystal Palace - how could I forget that - i am brain dead!!
Whereabouts are you SM?

zubb · 03/07/2005 22:59

like everyone else has said the Natural History museum is probably the best place.
Sandown on the Isle of Wight has dinosaur Island, and there's a museum in Dorchester - quite small, but a lot for kids to do.

treacletart · 03/07/2005 23:19

Your ds might enjoy this site called Show Me It pulls together great online stuff from UK museums and galleries - lots of stuff on dinosaurs! You can also check out the grown-up version, 24 Hour Museum for a dinosaur related museum near you

ScrewballMuppet · 03/07/2005 23:26

SBM, if you're in the North East, you could actually try and find fossils on the beach (might not be dinosaurs but you never know and pretty amazing). Whitby's supposed to be the best spot.
