Hi all,

I apologise in advance for the long post .

We are planning a little holiday around March/April - DD will be 6/7 months old. I'm just not sure exactly what we are looking for. DP and I both like 'busy' holidays. I'm not very fit or active but I just don't find sitting around a pool/beach relaxing, I can't switch off that way. We've tended to go on city breaks in Europe (just booked crappy cheap flights and hotels then spent a few days wandering around the city exploring and eating lovely local food), camping trips in the UK (which we will def do with DD when the weather is better) and we've saved for a few big trips with Explore or Expedia (guided tours around Egypt, Mexico etc with lots of travelling, sightseeing and activities squashed into the hol).

I'm just not sure what we want to do on this hol. We want get out and explore somewhere new and DD will hopefully still be happy to be carted around with us but we also want to relax with her so we don't want to end up in a very crowded/busy city. An apartment (or similar) might be better than a city hotel so we have our own space - people have suggested a resort but I worry we will end up somewhere full of burger bars, karaoke places and drunk british tourists (bad memories of cheap foreign hols with my parents).

One of our best hols recently was camping in Cornwall - we did long walks along the coast, went to the beach, visited castles/heritage sites, ate great seafood, found some fab bars and explored some lovely towns. I guess my ideal hol destination would be somewhere like Cornwall in Europe with a good chance of good weather, not too touristy and staying in a self-catering place. We loved Valencia too so somewhere similar would be good.

Any ideas for destinations or companies (to avoid those awful chavvy resorts) gratefully received. I LOVE hols and just want to make sure we have a good one.
