Should be fab, that's when we went. We did have a couple of rainy spells (three at the most) but was warm and rainy so no problem!

Which area of Mexico?

Just came across your post nearlychrimbo. Mexico is fab, beautiful place and lovely people. Where abouts are you thinking of staying?

I would do a few searches on the net and speak to a travel agent about the current situation over there. Have a freind who lives there and he is constantly telling me about the troubles they are having. Drug gangs and the police killing each other mainly, but I would check the safety aspect before you book anything just to be on the safe side.

Nearlycrimbo you will be perfectly safe in the tourist areas. The drug wars which we read about aren't anywhere near them

We went to Cozumel - a small island just off the coast. It was gorgeous!

We went at that time of year and it was really warm but not too humid. Had fab time, lovely place, lovely people, amazing food. Only problem is that no holiday since has lived up to it

Sam and Ledkr, you're so right, as a holiday destination it totally spoils you doesn't it.

we went in Oct/November- just missed a hurricane but we had fab weather.

I adored it every single minute.

We were at Riu Tequila in Playa del Carmen and I can't recommend it highly enough. Most amazing food I've ever had and the choice!!

If you go to that area you have to go to Xel-Ha, gooogle it!

We ve stayed in Riu Tequila and Riu Yukatan, the best 2 holidays we've ever had! You'll love it.

Go to Xel Ha and Scaret as day trips- fab day trips..

snap- polarfox! Riu Yukatan is right next door isn't it? Part of the same complex so you can use the pools/restaurants of both hotels?

Gorgeous place. It was my honeymoon and it definitely is the best summer holiday I've ever had!

Yes they are right next door so you can use all the facilities etc; they both are excellent.
