Hi

We are planning to travel on Eurotunnel with the car in May... It will be a Sunday morning going to France.

What would be the quietest time on a Sunday?

OH is thinking just after lunch, I'm not so sure.

We did it years ago (8am ish) and I remember having panic attack at the volume of traffic at 8am - people pushing and shoving our car out of the way to get through the barriers.

I'm all for going at the crack of dawn!

Early hours of the morning. I work as a coach travel operator, and early hours are mainly the quiet ones.

Thanks Lou... Not sure I can get OH to see my point of view though. He is thinking it will be quiet after lunch as all the day trippers go early.

He is right, it will be slightly quieter. However if you are travelling during school holidays or any other peak times you will find that anytime is busy.

Why not use the ferry? Its cheaper and you get to stretch your legs as well as have something to eat before continuing your journey.

Lou.. the ferry works out much more expensive. I'm getting the eurotunnel free with my tesco vouchers.

I would say v early in the morning, before those people who have set off from home after breakfast turn up, or much later in the day/early evening if you haven't got too big a drive the other end.

We've travelled at various times and TBH never found it too bad and not seen any evidence of the pushing/shoving mentality.

Oh i see. Didn't know you could use the Tesco's vouchers for that.
