Just booked a holiday here for next year. Has anyone stayed here? Any advice on a holiday in Barbados. Never been before although I have been to the Caribbean.
Thanks.

Barbados is lovely and very child friendly. Whereabouts is Sea Breeze? We stay on the West Coast near Mullins Bay. Lovely beaches and sea. Wonderful restaurants - even the smartest welcome children for lunch or an early dinner. Really relaxing place to stay.

Lots to do - submarine trip, island cruises and snorkelling, Harrisons Cave, Flower Forest.

Thank you MollieO. I think Sea Breeze is on the South Coast.

We have been to Barbados several times. We have stayed at Turtle Beach, on the South coast, which is lovely.

The island is lovely and the Bajans are very friendly and hospitable.

Try a jeep safari as well as the things MollieO has suggested. And if you can afford it, dinner at The Cliff is really worth it!

oh Thank you Santa Claus! Will look into that restaurant and the jeep safari!

Love the idea of swimming with turtles and we will do a catamaran trip as well. Did you feel safe out and about with children?

We went to Antigua at Easter and did not feel at all unsafe although I would not have wondered around at night on my own!

Really looking forward to it

I'm happy to drive around Barbados at night on my own (well with ds too). Always felt safe.

Posh restaurants I can recommend are The Tides and Lonestar. Daphnes is nice too. Also like the rotis from the Chefette (fast food place!).

We rent a house as I realised it was impossible to find a hotel that would take one adult and one child without charging the price of two adults.

Just found sea Breeze on the map. It is just along from turtle beach!

Definitely worth going to Oistins on Friday night for a fish supper as well.

Can I come?!

mumoverseas · 06/12/2009 18:18

I stayed at the sea breeze but it was around 10 years ago so I imagine its changed a bit
It wasn't nearly as posh as some of the other hotels but was nice enough, nice pool, beach etc. Nice and close to Oistins which as SantaClause says is definitely worth a trip on a Friday night for the fish fry.

If you like boat trips/snorkelling/diving the best one we went on was with a company called 'cool runnings'. It was a great day out with food and rum punch included.

Thanks mumoverseas. It is a small hotel only about 80 rooms but I hate great big complex hotels. Website looked good and it has just been completely refurbished so fingers crossed.

We stayed in a smaller low key type place in Antigua at Easter and it was fab so hope this is the same type of thing!

Lady we booked it with at Virgin stayed there recently and raved about it!

Just wondered if anyone else had been. Thanks for the suggestions.
