Does anyone one have any recommendations of where we could go near Swindon to meet the IL's with out dc's (4 & 3)?

Only place that has been suggested is Roves Farm but not sure whether it'll be any good as when we went in summer it wasn't brilliant and very little hot food available.

happy for it to be a child friendly pub or restaurant but didn't really want to go into Swindon as i'm imagining it'll be very busy.

Thanks

Near Junction 16 of the M4 is the Churchill Pub. It has soft play attached, and the food is okay, but nothing amazing.

Also, close to there is the wyvale garden centre (Blooms). That has a little restaurant area which sells fairly decent food. Then leads out to a craft area and a soft play. You pay by the half hour there.

Or further up the M4 (Chippenham) is the Cepen Park pub that has also got a nice soft play - and the food is probably a bit better too.

It's a little way from Swindon, but the Rising Sun at Christian Malford is a nice child friendly pub with good food.

Second ellokitty - the Churchill will be a good bet if you really want to relax with the children; but the food is distinctly average!

Or we sometimes go with DDs to Bottelino's italian restaurant near the outlet village, it's enormous but decent service and food good. Although in town it's just off the ring road and there is decent parking. Alternatively the National Trust cafe is nice - also near outlet village.

HTH.

Did you mean with our DC of without?

If you meant with them then Steam near the outlet centre is good for kids and grownups but you would have to go elsewhere for food.

Marlborough is full of places to go and a nice town to potter about in. There's a very fancy place in Bedwyn (Savanake forest nearby) which recently got a michlein star. Avebury is nice for a walk, but the pub is pretty standard.

Another vote for Churchill House great for kids the soft play you have to pay extra for now and it isn't the cleanest place in the world (the softplay) food is okay.

There is a great farm on the way to Oxford Millets Farm Centre, in Frilford, near Abingdon, they have specials on for Halloween/Easter extra activities (pay extra for) but the farm is free and the food is lush!
Farm shop is lovely and free farm, with a small childrens play area!!

Sally Pussy in nr Wootton Basset is lovely too...

There used to be another pub with a soft play area on in Peatmore not sure if it exists anymore?

Sorry my mum lives in Swindon not me so I don't know many places I moved away about 12 years ago!

Cirencester's great - tons of coffee shops and child friendly restaurants - plus a great big park (think thousands of acres) which is accessed from the centre of town for your dcs to let off steam in. Ciren's 12 miles north on the A419, however all dual carriageway so takes no time at all from Swindon.
