Not too bothered tbh - too much hassle with 3 little ones to go on planes to hot countries! Today is reinforcing that too!

SenoraPostrophe · 19/06/2005 14:33

we are!

Gobbledigook · 19/06/2005 14:33

My 'holiday' this year is 3 days in JoolsToo's cottage while she's on holiday!! Nice but, you know, not very exotic!!

nutcracker · 19/06/2005 14:35

Think i'll need to get booze in for 6 weeks hols else i'll be up on a murder charge before it's over.

Oh nutty - I'm with ya! Dreading it - 2 weeks at half term was a killer! Just hoping it's nice-ish weather so at least the kids can be in the garden.

nutcracker · 19/06/2005 14:38

Yeah me too and i really shouldn't grumble since we didn't even have a garden until last year, but it would be nice to have a break even for a day or too.

Dp has booked 2 weeks off at the beginning of july, god knows why.

We're not going anywhere this holiday, mainly because db is due bang in the middle of the hols. Don't mind too much really, where we live is nice enough.

Nutty, surely if your dp is on holiday the first two weeks of July, your kids will be still at school then? (or are they pre-school, sorry I forget). If so, not much help to you then!

GeorginaA · 19/06/2005 14:50

we are nutty - just can't afford it this year, but then again I'm a real homebody anyway. Having time off with Daddy around at home will be just as much a holiday feeling (and probably far less stressful!) as hopping on a plane somewhere - at least while ds2 is so young.

bubblerock · 19/06/2005 14:54

We're staying here too, don't mind too much if the weathers nice, I keep looking at holidays for everyone else though, just because I like looking at holiday websites

nutcracker · 19/06/2005 14:58

I told him to book it when the kids are at school so that we could at least perhaps get some jobs done in the house. I only wanted him to book a week though not two.

I keep looking at holidays too, i must like torchering myself .

Nutty look at the Haven site, in a few weeks, you can get a last minute deal for under £100....

nutcracker · 19/06/2005 15:23

Yeah they are good aren't they SM. UNfortunatly i haven't got enough money for a day trip nevermind a holiday.

Could probably scrape together enough for the break but not the food or spending money.

nutty - would you consider doing a houseswap with another "at home" mumsnetter this year - at least you'll both get away somewhere else?
