Anyone been to Port Aventura, Spain?

Hi there. We are thinking of visiting Port Aventura between Xmas/NY with 4 kids in tow, aged 12, 10, 9 and 6. Anyone been to Port Aventura and stayed in one of the hotels? Did you have to fly via the dreaded Ryanair or can you transfer from Barcelona. And if we teamed up a visit to P.A. with a night or two in Barca, can anyone recommend a hotel with an indoor swimming pool?!? Thanks in advance for ANY help. Am finding it really hard to find good city break activities for older kids...was so much easier when they were little and couldn't complain (as much!).

We went for a couple of days at Easter when staying in the area - didn't intend to go but we could see the rides from the back of our hotel - so hey ho. We flew BA to Barcelona and then holiday Taxis (generally have discount vouchers on the web) - the private car was quite pricey as it is about an hour - but the shared transfer was fine and good value. There is also a bus from Barcelona which we didn't do but it was a good service as were all the buses in the area and so I don't think you would have a problem and would be a really easy way to transfer back to the city. Buy park tickets in the Uk before you go - they are very pricey on arrival even with the hotel special offers. 2 Days was fine for us - went back the 2nd day as it was free on the ticket - no prpblem with queues - children were 10 and 7.
