ah.... not sure then mate tbh.

mancmum · 15/06/2005 18:30

I travel all the time between man and LHR and have never paid 360 quid --even travelling business class!! Look at the BMI Web site..

sparklymieow · 15/06/2005 18:34

that was for 5 of us. £64 each, is that about right??

OP posts:
mancmum · 15/06/2005 18:35

£64 is great it is about 50 on the train- - never ever got it that cheap think that is quite a bargain!! Which airline?

mancmum · 15/06/2005 18:36

where in manchester are you going -- might be worth looking at liverpool airport as not a ba car journey and there are more low cost airlines flying in there than manchester...

sparklymieow · 15/06/2005 18:37

BA. shocked that they charge the same for the kids TBH

sparklymieow · 15/06/2005 18:38

SIL is in Bolton, so not sure how far the airports are from her

OP posts:
mancmum · 15/06/2005 19:00

are you being picked up or hiring a car quite an easy journey from liverpool to bolton motorway most of the way -- as it is from Manchester... there is a direct train from man airport I am fairly sure to Bolton...

sparklymieow · 15/06/2005 19:01

properably being picked up...

OP posts:
mancmum · 15/06/2005 19:04

it is 20 or so miles from manchester airport and about 35 from liverpool -- but motorway so not a bad journey... might be worth seeing if easyjet go from your local airport?

sparklymieow · 15/06/2005 19:06

Our local one is luton

homemama · 16/06/2005 14:48

Sparklymieow,
As your in Luton, your best bet is an easy jet flight to liverpool then M'way to Bolton. Both luton and l'pool are small, easy to get in and out of airports. (altho manc is v good for a large airport)
When you get to l'pool M62 then M60 then M61 to Bolton. Very straightforward and easy. Cheaper too!

crunchie · 16/06/2005 14:55

sparklymieow, have you not got a car, or could you not hire one. From Luton to Manchester the drive will be less than going to the airport, checking in in advance, flying, getting off and to your SIL the other side. It would be cheaper too I am sure. You can hire cars from Easy jet at Luton airport too.

sparklymieow · 16/06/2005 18:45

Yes I have a car, just didn't fancy driving all that way, does anyone know how far it is from Herts to Manchester??

OP posts:
katierocket · 16/06/2005 19:01

agree with crunchie. We flew from manchester to london last year and after all the checking in time, hanging around and a small delay, plus drive to and from airport, it took about 5 hours! WOuld have been quicker and cheaper to train it or drive.

okapi · 16/06/2005 19:06

the aa website is good - Luton to Manchster is 165 miles and takes 2h53m

here

homemama · 18/06/2005 22:43

Sparkiemieow, I drove from st albans to manchester every other w/e for two years to visit the now DH. 2 and half hours. Easy m'way all the way!
