Ok, have got two weeks out in middle of August and nothing booked as usual. Did the Dordogne last year and Brittany year before. Would like sea and not blistering heat and maybe some castles for knight-obsessed boys. Any ideas gratefully received...

I just put in a random date in August and it came up with 36 in Poitou-Charentes . It's a well-organised site, but there is a slight risk that availability might not be up to date so if you find one you like ring them!!!

thanks Janh, not tried that one. Some sites have been driving me a bit mad because you find the availability hasn't been updated since March. urk, trying that one now, fingers crossed!

Hmm, i think we are insufficently exquisite and boys likel;y to render duplex not exquisite at all. Sounds lovely, Pruni but after the 4yo temper tantrums caused by one hot weekend in east London think blistering is out.
