E111 - Do kids get one? And do they have a NI number?

Before i go on a hunt for the kids NI number - do they even have one?

And do they need an E111?

No you dont have one until you are 16.
Yes kids have E111, you just apply same as for an adult IIRC, dd and ds have one each

They need an EHIC card, as do you (they have replaced E111), unless they are over 16 they don't have a NI number. You can apply online for cards, you'll just need their NHS numbers iirc.

And it's not an E111 any more, it's an EHIC, and each child needs one too.

They each need an EHIC card which is same as an old e111 but individual and a credit card style. You can apply online.They probably have NI nos allocated but iirc a nhs number is needed (registration card for gp would have it)

No, children you get allocated a National Insurance number just before their 16th birthday. For UK citizens, the E111 has been replaced with the EHIC card for which is free and you can apply for online (google it). And yes, children should have one.
