DS2 is 16 months old but very tall (approx 88cms). He is now filling his travel cot, his head practically touches one end while his feet touch the other! He is too young to go into a bed but we are going away for 2 weeks soon and I am dreading bedtime. Any suggstions?

Yes we used one of these for dd when she was 2 and ds when he was about 12 months old as he was too tall for a cot. All I did was velcro the duvet down on the blow up be and put him in his grow bag. once we'd used it a few times he then was happy to get into duvet.

We had to put DS 15 months into a bed on an overnight stop back from the South of France, no problems whatsoever, no bed guard either. We just put some pillows on the floor incase he fell out.

DD was only 28 months old and she had to go in the top bunk! They were really small bunk beds in an alcove and not very high. It was such a novelty they were both absolutely fine, but wanted bunk beds when we got home. DS never slept in a cot after that, stayed in a bed.

They were good sleepers, never waking up in the night, so didn't think it it was something to worry about.

Get one of those ready beds, that might work for you.

Inflatable ready bed

We have put two chairs up against the bed (with their backs against the mattress) as a make shift bed guard in holiday homes.

We also used sun lounger mattresses on the floor when he was older as he still tended to fall out.

Ready beds can be quite good too, depends if you are flying or driving as to how much stuff you want to take

Thanks for this. We have a ready bed in the loft from DC1, thought DC2 was too young but seems the way to go!
