Want to take DS somewhere on an aeroplane. Not far, not a lot of money, Any ideas?

DS is 9 and has never been on a plane yet, altho he's done 3 cruises in his life. It's time he had that experience I think.

I fancy taking him somewhere for 2 or 3 nights, was thinking Jersey/Ireland ish, but have no idea of any good child-friendly hotels.

Ideally East Midlands airport (only 25 mins away).

Just looking for suggestions please.

Why not approach it from the other direction - see where you can fly to from East Midlands and see which destination you/ds fancy.
We did Jersey last year & stayed at the Radisson which would be good for a 9yr old. It's right next to the sea and adjacent to the cinema and water park. Jersey is expensive though.

Go foreign - much more exciting!

Paris?

Hmm. I think Paris would prove expensive on the 'extras' tho ...
And the pressure to do Disneyland would be immense (I'm saving the disneyland experience for when we can do it in Florida, secretly hoping to go in 2010 for my 50th).

Italy's only about an hour or two on a plane. Can be done quite cheaply too.

Try seeing where you can fly to from East Midlands
