Thinking about booking a week there. It has the attraction of stuff to do and also a beach.

Any thoughts or feedback appreciated before I go ahead

Portaventura is fab!! But im not sure if it could fill a whole week.... Personally you are better off staying in nearby Salou, its lots cheaper and has lots to do. Port aventura is a 15 min bus ride to the park where there is the park and a water park. Two days there will prob be enough

We went last year . It was fab. Stayed in the Portaventura hotel which was lovely.Breakfast and dinner both a buffet. Very good lots of choice. We stayed a week , there was plenty to do. We generally spent the morning in the theme park, the afternoon in the pool or at the beach(free shuttle bus) and went back to the theme park around 4 when the day has cooled slightly. Big firework/ lazer/ character show each night at midnight and lots of other shows during the day. There is also a water park there which you get a one day free ticket to if you stay on site for a week . You also get fast pass tickets if you stay on site and it was really convenient being able to pop back to our room whenever we felt like it. My children are 16 and 13 and loved it . In fact we loved it so much we are going back this year!!

There is a train platform at the edge of the park. We took a train to Tarragona which was a lovely old Roman coastal town. There is an amphitheatre there which if I remember correctly is the best preserved in Europe. Tarragona was the Roman headquarters of Spain in its day. It was about 15 mins train journey and didn't cost much. The trains go to Barcelona and Seville(?) .
