Dubai stopover - what are these hotels like?

I'm about to book long haul flights to Australia with Emirates, including a special offer for a stopover of 2 night in Dubai. Me, DH and our DS (who will then be 7 months old) are travelling in July. This is the choice of hotels; does anyone have any recommendations / warnings?

Park Hyatt Dubai
Jumeirah Emirates Towers
Atlantis, The Palms

I've read the thread below on which someone warns that Dubai's very hot in July and also that it isn't necessarily child-friendly. I'm not necessarily that bothered about seeing lots of Dubai itself, more about taking advantage of the offer to stop over in a nice hotel and rest up in the middle of the journey, so it might really come down to which of these would be best to laze around in. Any info would be welcome.

been to several hotels in Dubai but unfortunately none of those listed. I would however go to Atlantis as it sounds fabulous and saw the recent opening on tv which looked amazing.

Atlantis is very new and, being located at the tip of the Palm Jumeirah, has quite a unique setting. However it is also a taxi ride from anywhere else. Where the base of the Palm meets the shoreline you will find the new Dubai Marina area with lots of hotels, cafes and restaurants and construction. Of course there is still plenty of construction on the Palm itself but I doubt that it would impact you much once you are inside Atlantis. The Aquaventure waterpark at Atlantis attracts a lot of day visitors but there is limited access around the hotel for non resident guests so if you were staying there I don't think that would be a problem. Jumeirah Emirates Towers is in the city and much nearer the airport (so not a beach hotel like Atlantis) and Park Hyatt is I believe on Dubai Creek. If you haven't looked already then you can find out all you need to know about these three hotels on Tripadvisor. Use the Dubai forum search facility and read the reviews/check out the photos of each hotel here: Park Hyatt, Atlantis and Jumeirah Emirates Towers
Wherever you stay do take time to visit the Madinat Jumeirah Souk located between the Jumeirah Mina a Salam Hotel and the Jumeirah Al Qasr Hotel. There are some lovely restaurants along the waterways with views of the Burj al Arab hotel and you can take an Abra (boat) tour around the resort for a reasonable fee.

Thanks for your view, mumoverseas, and thanks for all that great info, copycat. I'd completely forgotten Tripadvisor - I blame lingering pregnancy brain...

Any other hotel opinions?
