Found cheap flights to Poitiers so looking for a gite or similar

would prefer a pool and would prefer somewhere that doesn't need a car as we are on a very tight budget due to husband being made redundant. Can anyone recommend anywhere? The cheaper the better!

would prefer week beg 24th june but also free any time in july.

this one (W10975 if link fails) is about 150km from Poitiers, walking distance to village, £438.50 for 7 nights from Thu 25/6 (cottages4you only do weeks starting on a Mon or Thu or Sat) & you'd get 7% off if you click through the MN link.

More expensive in July, & Sat start only from 11th onwards.

Any good? (Dunno how you'd get there from Poitiers though)

We stayed at this great gite complex www.leshiboux.com near to Poitiers in Charente Maritime.
It has a swimming pool, is really tastefully decorated and has loads for kids to do, there's a games room, Petanque, trampolines, football pitch, table tennis, pool table, darts, games, a big DVD library etc.

The owners are really amenable and I'm sure would pick you up if you want to save on Car hire. Plus they have bikes so that may solve the shopping aspect.

It was our best family holiday ever as the kids were so contented and everything was catered for.

It looks gorgeous! Did you fly to Poitiers? How far is it from the nearest shop/restaurant?
