I am looking and looking at hols but a bit concerned about the pound and the euro this year. Where would the experts amongst you suggest for a good holiday - not too expensive but lots of sunshine beating down on my back!! Criteria - would like to use some tesco vouchers as part payment. Would like to go for 2 weeks in main Summer hols - 2 adults and 2 children. Looked at Spain - looked at Italy . Looked at apartments and canvas holidays (static homes). Fancy a break from France and don't want Majorca. All suggestions, ideas welcome. If Leslaki(?) reads this can you tell me more about lovely campsite you have mentioned near Venice. Is it very big? Is it very expensive when there (in comparison to France or Spain). thanks old lady in need of a suntan!!

Especially experiences of campsites near Venice. The thing I am concerned about is cost when there. It is a few years since I was last in Italy but I always felt it more expensive than Spain - any recent visitors advice would be welcomed. thanks

Leslaki here!! Just found your post! the campsite you're asking about is here it is fantastic and you can book with canvas and use your Tesco vouchers! I spent around £1000 sepending money last ear for 2 weeks but we ate out a lot and I paid for the expenasive trip to venice as on my oewn with the 2 dc for the 1sdt time. i also paid for a txi transfer etc etc but this year I'll be doing it on a budget! Bus from airport etc! The canmpsite can be as cheap or exensive as you wnat it to be! The pools and beach are free. We used to go to the pool after breakfast, backk for lunch and chill out then down the beach with frozen water etc! If you like eating like Italians you can live cheaply - BBqs n pasta and the homemade pesto at the deli is to die for! There is a largeish supermarket in caorle but not worth hiring a car for - i got a lift with a friend and it was a bit cheaper but the campsite shop was fine. The restauarant isn't too expensive either but they charge a fortune for things like photos of your kids taken by their pro. I didn't buy any! It's also a 5 min walk into Eraclea Mare if you want to try different restaurants or go to the market. It really si fantastic!!! You can get the bus direct from the airport and it cost us 3euros each - for me and da, they didn't charge for dd (5) on the way back. To do venice cheap you can just go by bus - I wanted to sail into venice the first time we went but it cost a fortune!
Any more questions, just ask!
