starting to panic about basically spending the whole day on a plane with a very active 18mo! we usually take night flights without probs as dd sleeps most of way. but this time i'm using miles and the award tickets are through the day.
first flight is at 6am (dd will probably wake up and want breakfast immediately!)
then 2nd flight from amsterdam at 10am

I'm 16 weeks pregnant too so hope dd will sit/ climb on dp mostly.
just wonder what other people have found succesful.
i usually try to stay very boring but i have a feeling we're in for a nightmare, especially as we need to leave home at 3.30 am so will be sleep deprived from outset

I think this is the hardest age to fly with ( in my experience). They don't have any attention span for films, colouring in etc. I just try to go with what they want to do ie if they want to walk up and down then I walk up and down. This might irritate a few passengers but trying to restrain an 18month old is impossible. I take a few bits and pieces like pencils, paper, stickers ,books and they work now and again throughout the flight. Snacks work well. I was 22 weeks pregnant when my third was 20 months and we did a 9 hour flight. She refused to sit on anyone else's knee except mine the whole way there and the whole way back! To be honest, I just try to stay relaxed about the whole experience and go with the flow and I don't think we have ever had too bad a flight, exhausting yes, but no scenes!
