One of our best family hoildays ever was a narrow boat holiday paid for by tesco vouchers. The dc loved it. Fantastic weather (we went at Easter), very relaxing, plenty to see along the way... we've booked again for this year... can't wait

we went herelast year and are going again this year - cost £1200 with canvas and paid for entirely with tesco vouchers through Canvas Holidays! (exclding flights but booked cheap ones.) We're also going to a campsite just outside Disneyland Paris in may half term - using tesco vouchers - just paying for park entry tickets). The ferry and campsite was around £300 so £75 of vouchers! Bargain! We went before (twice ) to Disneyland paris with cresta in December and stayed at the Newport bay Hotel for 4 nights each time. I have also been to the Berlin Hilton for 3 nights, camping (mobile homes) in France:
Brittany (Mane Geurnehue, Camping Village la Plage and Camping les deux Fontaines)

The Vendee (Acapulco and le Bois masson)
again all paid for entirely with tesco vouchres (including overnight ferries but that was in the good old days!)

and... a 5 day break at Butlins Minehead!

So, yes!! I may have sold my soul to MR T and his Clubcard marketing machine, but I've had quite a few holidays out of it!! have only paid for 1 holidays in the last 6 years and that was £115 for Oct half term in Duinrell inc ferry!

Leslaki

It is great to hear you are utilising the tesco clubcard system. How on earth do you get so many points though! I have been saving mine for the last year and a quarter and have approx £200 in vouchers (£800 when converted)and try to do all weekly shops at tesco and have utilities through Eon but you sound as though you must have double the amount of points - is there any other way to collect/accumulate more, more, more!!

I am busy looking at Canvas too at the moment- I assume I can top up the difference between vouchers and price.

hotpotmama · 19/02/2009 21:57

thanks for replies. Wow leslaki you must be good at getting the points. We have got a tesco credit card so get quite a lot thru that.

Am thinking of going to Belle Dune resort, not far from Calais, using Tesco vouchers.

Stumbled upon this thread while netsurfing, decided to tack my question on here itself. My tesco clubcard points get automatically converted to a money off voucher every so often, which I have to use within a certain timeframe. So my points never accumulate enough to buy part of a holiday. What am I missing?

Pwsimerimew · 18/05/2009 11:14

Just don't use them at all in store. keep them safe (there is usually a long use by date on them). Once you have a lot, quadruple (sorry for sp) the amount and check out their clubcard website for deals, choose what you want to spend them on and order them online. Easy. At the moment you can also double your points and spend them in store on clothes etc.
