Anyone been?

Was it worth it? What did you think?

Just looking now. Going to Disney on our own this summer so looking at the hotel option.

Before I book - anything I should know?

I'm sure that the deal would still be valid as long as you were staying the whole time in a Disney hotel, even if more than 1.

But I wouldn't want to change half way through either.

I would probably pick the Animal Lodge between those two as you are unlikely to stay in a hotel again with exotic wild animals wandering around. If you are there for 2 weeks you'll get to see them all.

Hi Hula

We have stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and loved it, especially being able to get the boat from the hotel straight to the Magic Kingdom; it's SUCH a bonus and so relaxing to be able to hop on a boat and be at the MK in minutes. The pool area is also fabulous. We booked a woods view room IIRC but, to be honest, we spent so little time there it was a bit of a waste - even when we came back to the hotel for an afternoon rest we either used the pool area or just slept!

We ate at Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge (fantastic place and food) but didn't stay there purely because of the distance from other parks. Wilderness Lodge is similar in design to AKL - both have huge central atria and amazing attention to detail (as do all the Disney Hotels IMHO).

I think they are doing building work in the area of animal kingdom lodges, but should be finished by springtome i believe. I think I got this info from the disney website

I haven't read all the posts but we stayed there over Christmas this year for a week and it's great. Very good for the children - lots of things to see/do around the hotel, convenient for Disney and everything else. The only downside is that it's HUGE and you have to walk miles to your room (at least we did) but really, it's a great resort and I'm sure you'll love it..

We stayed in Port Orleans FQ. By far the best thing about it was hopping onto the paddle boat to Downtown Disney.

I would stay on the Riverside part though next time.
