New Lone Parent Half Term Dilemma

As a new lone parent, any (cheap) suggestions for activities for myself dd (10) and ds (7) ? So used to doing things as a family and half-term is looking scary! Don't want to be stuck indoors all week and we do have a car but not many friends with kids.
Can anyone help me kick-start my new single life please? Living in the South West BTW.

You could go to the record office and search for some local history - perhpas look at the area your home is located or the dc school - try looking to see if there are any school log books from before 1920's.

This would be free and you would need to take some ID with you - to get into the record office. Parking is free in the record office car park but it is only small.

Google Taunton Record Office and you will get the webpages up for the office with the opening time and info on what ID to take with you. For the children take a passport or medical card or child benifit letter.
