Why has booking a holiday become such a nightmare since I married a teacher?

I used to travel alot before DH flit from one place to another in two weeks at my Aunt's near La Coruna and 1 week in Costa de Luz. The cost is driving me nuts and the lack of flights Aggghhhh! I want a kids club as Ds is an only child and DH will be exhausted.

Tell me about it. I am going out to the West Indies a week earlier than my DH so as to spend more time with my family who live there- the lack of flexibility is driving us insane! Coming back together but going out with (will be then) 16 week DS and my teenage sister.

MamacitaGordita I'm sure your nickname isn't accurate! Anyway We are going to do roughly the same. I'm going with DS (4yrs) to my Aunt's a week early. All the available cheap flights go via Madrid! So you might get to the West Indies before I get to Northern Spain or we are going to have to fork out £300 each. DH will go via Madrid a week later and only stay a week as I don't think it will be restful with my Aunt (They do love to stay up late drinking coffee!)
We went camping in Devon with teachers last summer and got totally washed out. Can't get a Easter break to the bits of Costa de Luz I like, already booked up! Can't do Costa del anything else as it too heart breaking to see.

We had our honeymoon in Tarifa- had never been to Costa de Luz before... gorgeous and so much quieter! Mind you that was in pre-teaching days...

I've noticed a couple of teaching jobs in Madrid actually and am nagging encouraging DH to think about them...

Trying not to whinge to non-teachery folk though as they get very hot under the collar about teachers and holidays!

And after having little DS I am rather gorda!!

MamacitaGordita Mum lived in the area when she was a kid. I took her back on a road trip and it was amazing. We had to spend one night in Marbella and I was horrified. Basically, its an industrial town and tourism is the produce, sadly its very ugly. I hate golf courses and the villages further up the moutain have limited water to feed them! If you can get there I recommend Conil. But don't tell everybody ha! ha!
I know I shouldn't moan but on here none can see me scream! if only they knew how much time he spends looking after their children.
