London Gatwick to Bodrum starting 24 April and Manchester to Dalaman starting 2 August.
Went onsale yesterday afternoon.. complete surprise!

Starting Prices from £77 return in low season and £100 in high season.

If you were thinking of planning a cheap holiday to Turkey this year, get in quick and book flights.. plenty of hotels, apartments and villas to book direct later.

Hope is of use to someone

That is excellent, I love the look of Olu Deniz, accommodation v reasonable,but.... when I looked at flights they were so expensive.

I think Turkey would be a great option for May or oct half term when not so hot.

Thanks for the info.

Went to Olu Deniz in May last year and it was wonderful, much better than I was expecting

Julial.... if you read this I would be grateful for your advice, I am planning for 2010.. early I know!!!

I love the look of Ovacik/Hisonaru nr Olu Deniz, and can get an apartment very reasonably priced. I am planning for May half term 2010. I know the flights wont be out until about December, but what can I expect to pay if I book as soon as they come out? I am worried, because looking at the prices now from LGW to Dalaman you are looking at about £2500 for four of us in this May half term!!

Thanks in advance.

Ruthiebabes - please don't panic, but you are doing absolutely the right thing. Travelling to Turkey can be really cheap but you have to plan ahead. Now for LGW to Dalaman with Easyjet the prices for May half term the prices started at around £100 return but these get snapped up very quickly..well within an hour of booking opening. But there are alternatives. If you are OK going Friday to Friday, I would suggest flying outbound on the scheduled Cyprus Turkish Airlines flight www.kthy.net
dep 13.00 arrives 18.45 (full catering and free seat reservations)and either fly back with them either a week later 9.15-11.30 to LGW or 9 days later with their 18.15-20.30 Sunday flight into Stansted. Return cost for 2 adults and 2 children £738. Alternatively, fly back with Aegean flights (budget turkish airline) www.aegeanflights.com on Friday 18.45-21.00. The cost for outward with Kthy and back with Aegean should be c. £611 total. All prices based on those paid this year. Aegean flights release their summer schedule 2010 this June, Kthy around October half term. If you send me your email address (mine is [email protected])I'd be happy to add you to the list of those I prompt re: booking dates - I do it for those who book my apt out there. I'm mulling all the above myself as am planning to go out to my parents place in Kalkan that half term. (Will be visiting Olu Deniz on a day trip.. only takes an hour or so to drive.. see you on the beach perhaps?)
Anyway, hope this reassures you. I'm sure that whoever owns the apartment you plan to rent will be happy to hold dates while you confirm flights. Happy planning!
