going away in September with dd who will be 2.3, we have never flown with her before so have some daft questions.
She will have her own seat on the plane, does she just sit in the normal adult seat or if something else provided or should we be taking something?
on coach transfers same qeustion really, do they provide a seat or do we book one or take one?
can't really imagine taking a carseat away with us? Am i being daft?

she will sit in her own seat - you don't need anything else as there are only lap belts which are fully adjustabel to her size.
on a coach you could bring a light car seat (polystyrene type), or I invested in a car seat-belt adjuster that lowers the height of the cross over part of the belt making it safer and more comfortable. There are plenty of these onthe market. they are handy and portable. Some coach companies may provide child seats if asked, but they are not required in some countries.
Also pack enough toys - colouring books, I books, etc to entertain on the plane/deal with delays. For landing bring juice/sweets to help relieve ear ache due to pressure changes.
Bring your light buggy also. You can normally take it up to the departure gate and hand it over at the last minute to staff. You don't usually get it back until you are getting your luggage.
Finally bring a nappy change bag with enough food etc to deal with delays - check with your airline as you may not be allowed to carry jars/bottles of juices or vaseline tins/creams etc onboard the plane.
Have a lovely holiday and don't forget to pack your camera!!!

only going to mallorca so quite a short flight for her first time. will be taking her light buggy but i didn't know i could keep it till the last minute, great!
not sure whether she could use a booster seat, she will only be just 2 and is very small for her age, she is 18 months now and only weighs 19lb and in 9-12 months clothes that hang off her.
i will ask the company whether the coach provide any seats. thanks.

ilovetochat - gosh she is a wee angel! do try the car seat belt adjuster. I highly recommend them for travel. You can use them on any seat belts and they adjust for your child properly and securely.

thanks divedaisy, i will get one of those just in case. yes she is small, officially she should still be in the 1st carseat due to her weight but we couldn't keep her lying down an longer as she hated it and her legs were bent double.
