DH won Thomas Cook break up to £250!! Where should we go - nice hotel here or cheap weekend away?

Title says it all really We have £250 to spend. I think we can top it up if we want but don't have much spare cash. We're planning a child-free weekend away. I'm so excited! Where to go? Lovely posh hotel in UK or Eurostar and B and B in Paris / Bruges etc.???

If it's only a weekend i would make the most of the time by going posh in Uk.

More travel would mean less time enjoying!!

I'd go to Bruges, for all those wonderful choccies! There are some VERY nice hotels there, and its cheaper than Paris (although not so much to see)

Krakow is lovely and not too expensive.

I liked Bruges, but I DID go at Christmas, which may make a difference, as there was LOTS to do then. However its a pretty place, with lots of chocolate shops and places to go for nice meals and a beer. No good if you fancy going clubbing!

I've been to Prague too, but all the hotels in the centre are VERY expensive, so you end up stuck out "in the sticks", and it isn't always in a nice area. When we booked, we found a Czech travel agent and booked an apartment.

I've always fancied Budapest, thinking about it...
