Is it worth a few days in Genoa. Which sea side resorts are lovely?

We stayed at Arenzano (think that is how you spell it !) which is the other side of Genoa to Liguria but sitll pretty coastline. The towns and beaches are all very child friendly but not all are sandy and some you pay to use sections. There are carousels and play areas open late into the evening after a break between about 6 and 8pm. The next town along away from Genoa was particulalry child friendly with restaurants on the beachfront and adjacent play areas. Portofino is spectacular to visit , isolated , chic and very expensive.

There is very little of interest in Genova. Portofino is lovely, by all accounts.

Genova is only 1.5 hours from Monaco and its surrounding seaside towns are beautiful.

Portofino is indeed lovely! And expensive. Day trip material really. Loano is a lovely little town with a great beach. We also visited the Cinque Terre. We've been a few times and have visited/stayed in lots of places all along the coast. Let me know what you're looking for.
