For August next year. I'd like: warm but not searingly hot (Greece is out I think, much as I love it); beach (pref. sand); self-catering (apartment or Eurocamp arrangement - doubt we'll be able to stretch to a villa); 3-hour flight max (ish); and an area that still has some local character, but also has some tourist facilities.

Yeah, yeah, I want the moon on a stick.

I'd be really grateful if anyone could suggest regions that might fit the bill.

Ooh hello

Thank you, vacaloca and hf. I'm storing all this up to look at next weekend.

we went here this year and so good I've booked it again for next year
It's FAB!!!! really fantastic pools, a short walk througha weepine forest to the beach which is perfect for kids - gently shelving and soft sand. There are activities for the children if you want them and they have a kids club - if yours will go! the restaurants brilliant and the bus stop is right outside the campsite if you don't want to drive. The bus goes direct into venice and Marco Polo airport and into Caorle (lovely town with water park) int he toher direction. can't reccomend it enbough. My DCs are 5 and 6 and are so excited about going back! venice is a must too and it's amazing to fly in over it! The DCS loved Venice too!

not a weeping forest - a wee pine forest

Following my unashamedly biased suggestion of Asturias before, I thought I'd add a link to more info in the small business ads section.
