Can some describe Milan for me?

Ok, this is a bit random, but I am doing NaNoWriMo and my main character has just gone to Milan (to chase a terrorist suspect if you must know!) but I've never been. Can someone who has try describing it a bit for me?

Is it industrial?
What are the buildings like?
What are the people like?
What are the rich/poor areas?
What would the weather be like in the spring?

Nope, they did not go to prison. This was at the race track (polo field was in the middle). Two of the guys were Italian and they just carried on the same, kept their jobs, etc. The other was from Tunisia and he got kicked off the premises (he used to work for me & was a right creep, so got rid. He then found work with one of the race stables). There were no prosecutions although the police were involved.

Wingandprayer if I were to limit my writing to the realms of my own experience it would be a pretty crap novel don't you think? I'm sure one day when I have a £25,000 advance I can actually go to somewhere that I want to write about before hand for research. As it it I can just about afford the petrol to get my car to the other side of my town, so I will have to stick to asking for other people's nput.

And actually writing 50k in a month while juggling a FT job and a toddler is pretty tricky enough. Writing about new and interesting places just makes it more fun .
