Santiago de Compostela - has anyone been there?

I really fancy going there, but not as a walking pilgrim I hasten to add, more because I like the look of the cathedral and all the amazing old buildings. Has anyone been there?

My mum - said it is absolutely beautiful and there is a fabulous hotel right next door. She is not at all pilgrimmy by the way.

I have been there but it was about 10 years ago. Yes the cathedral is amazing - wonderful architecture.
