I have won a raffle at work to climb Kilimanjaro for our charity this year - very excited! Any tips on how to make it to the top? Or, erm, make the thousands of pounds I now need to raise to get up there?

Yes, I need so many jabs I will look like a pin cushion - haven't been anywhere I need jabs for more than 10 years now so they have all worn off. I am in London so it is just a case of steeling myself and going to the clinic.

That’s honestly amazing, congrats! Biggest tip I’ve heard from people who’ve done it is don’t treat it like a normal hike - altitude will humble you fast, so slow pace is everything even if you feel fine. Also try doing a few long hikes with a loaded backpack before you go, it helps way more than gym workouts. And for fundraising, don’t overthink it - most people just tell their story properly and start small, it builds up quicker than you expect. More info on Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro may help you more.

I suspect they've completed the climb, hopefully successfully, given post was written in 2008.
