What to do when needing buggy on transfer?

Am flying to Cape Town via Frankfurt with 22 month old DC. I'll check all the luggage through at Bristol to Cape Town, but will need the buggy in Frankfurt. Has anyone had experience of needing buggy on transfer? How does it all work?

"So long as you ask staff you should get it back" I doubt this very much. All the buggies on our recent long haul flight were last on the plane and last off too.

When we went to Portugal we got ours back at the tarmac in Lisbon. It wasn't long haul but it certainly wasn't an issue. I have been around planes on a working perspective and understand the handling system. FWIW anyone saying they can't get it is bllshting you. I would create havoc.

I have had some flights where we have been given buggy on stopovers and some not.

i bought a buggy like this in mothercare a coupkle of years ago as it folds up tiny into a rucksack and so fits into the locker...also doesnt look like a buggy so never been queried when carrying it on, people always comment on it.

Think mothercare have stopped doing them now but this is the most similar thing (mine a 3 wheeler but otherwise looks the same. here

our one was defo worth the money, great for hols and days out too as v. small in the car. My friend in NZ has a 3 wheeler one too, so maybe you can buy one over there so at least you have it for the return leg??

Travelled loads with a baby and have never managed to get our buggy for transfers. Either they refuse or they promise it will appear and it doesn't (even more annoying ).

We went with Air NZ. Another mum on our plane had a Quinny and exactly the same thing happened to her.
