Would you recommend? Any tips etc.

Only experience from a child's perspective. My parents used to do it and I hated it. Mad cleaning up before every holiday, having to put away anything "precious" (in the loft!) and knowing that someone was in your bedroom going through your things.

Ooo. I hadn't thought of that. Doesn't sound too good.

We'd love to try it. We're teachers based in Scotland and love getting away for wee adventures. October week is coming and we're wondering about having a go.
Anyone know how to do this?

Hi - we've done it 4 times - Wales, Somerset, USA and Norway - fab fun each time. Hard work before you go as your house needs to be up to scratch BUT worth it as it's so cheap compared to getting accommodation/car hire everywhere. I use as house exchange site - easy and worth it!

P.S. My kids adored it - utterly!
