Travelling in Canada with five children

I am planning a holiday to Canada in May this year with my husband and 5 children aged between 4 and 9, so they are all beyond the toddler stage. We will be staying with relatives for most of the time, then moving to the mountains in a chalet, then over to Vancouver, where we'd like to stay in a hotel for a night as a 'treat'. Does anyone know how we can manage to find a room for all of us? Would we have interconnecting rooms? Has anyone done this? Thanks

In fact, we have booked a chalet in the Rockies which has two bedrooms, with 3 queen beds altogether, so we will have 3 children in one bed, which is fine by us as they're quite small still. When you stayed in Toronto, was the hotel part of a chain? I'm interested in anyone who has had good experiences with children in a hotel, as it's something we've never tried before - we've always stuck to self-catering in a cottage in Wales!

I'm from the Vancouver area originally but been here for about 4 years. I don't know if you'll have a car or not but a place to consider is the family housing at Simon Fraser University. They offer 4 bedroom townhouses that each have 2 single beds in plus you have your own kitchen etc. The view from the top of Burnaby Mtn is beautiful.
