Holiday tomorrow, no passport!!

Cant anyone help? I'm meant to be going on holiday tomorrow but I can't find my dd's passport... we're using the channel tunnel - does anyone know if we're likely to get stopped and asked for it? Is it worth risking (going with just mine and hoping we don't get stopped)? Any other ideas what to do? I'm gonna keep searching but I doubt I'll find it before the morning

they do generally give them a cursory glance at some point, and likewise on way back, would obv.notice if less passports than people. I wouldn't risk it. Keep looking! Good luck!

You'll find it. It can't have vanished completely. My sister did this and it took her four hours, but she found it in the end.

Sympathies though. What a nightmare!

They do check passports - you could be abducting her.

Stop and be logical.

Where were the others? Why would hers not have been there as well?

Could she have had it to play with, how old is she?

Have you emptied every draw/cupboard with "stuff" in completely and checked it, then double checked it?

Then check every sock drawer and bottom of wardrobe.

Car?

When mine went missing it was in our tip home office in a pile of papers DP swore he had looked at at least twice. You need to start in one room and do the whole place.

Good Luck!

I've been searching ALL afternoon. Recently moved house and didn't find it then, been thru all the boxes as well as all the stuff I've already unpacked, it's nowhere to be seen.

Didn't even occur to me I'd need them til my dad called me today. I knew where mine was and I also knew I'd misplaced hers. If I'd've thought about it a couple of weeks ago I'd have just ordered her a new one.

Passport office have advised it will be at least a week to get a new one, so looks like we're definitely not going

can you not buy day passports with all the relevant documents or is that a figment of my imagination?

WowOoo · 05/07/2008 19:42

It must be somewhere. Where did you have it last?
Misplaced ours recently and found it in a box of shoes (and paperwork)!!
Systematically look everywhere.
Good luck!

used to be able to get a visitor's passport at the post office, but even if you still could, tomorrow's Sunday!

Surfermum · 05/07/2008 19:43

Ask St Anthony to help you find it.

Slubberdekangaroomurderer · 05/07/2008 19:44

Have you had to use it recently to provide identification for her (like joining the library or new doctors)? Could it be in a random bag or in a coat pocket that you wore in the winter?

tissy · 05/07/2008 19:56

can't replace a lost passport in 24 hours

tissy · 05/07/2008 20:01

where did she last travel to?

could it be with guide books/ phrase books from last time?

what bags did you use last time? in one of them?

did a friend/relative travel with you last time? could they have it?

googgly · 05/07/2008 20:02

Look in places like inside the scanner. In all handbags and bags. Go through the diary to try to identify when you might have needed it.

You can't get a passport at the weekend anyway, so can forget replacing it before Monday morning.
