Passport photos for a 2yo?

How on earth do you get a photo of your 2yo which fulfils all of the requirements of the passport office?

She won't sit still/stop grinning/keep looking in the right direction/etc

Any advice?

take them to a place to get it done

click did my dd when she was about 6 weeks old. they were great and it cost no more than a booth.

Are you taking it yourself or at a shop or in a booth?

RambleOn · 02/07/2008 14:05

Have tried to do it myself, and in a booth (nightmare!!)

Which shop would do it?

Find a small kodak shop, they are great there.

They put LO onto a white beanbag and take as many photos as it takes to get the required photo, they have the measurement guidelines for passports.

They charge £4.00 for four photos and if they get refused by passport office, they will do them again/refund the cost for you.

Thanks everyone. Have called my local camera shop and they do them there, similar set-up to your Kodak shop Pavlov.

i did my dds in a booth when she was about 16months i told her something aboout watching for the light and she would get a present! i cant remember exactly what i said but photo turned out fine. the temper tantrum we had when a present didnt suddenly and magically appear out of the screen was bad! maybe i should have explained better!

there's a v child friendly pharmacy nr us who have always done ours, much better than those booths and they also know what will "pass" and what won't.

have seen little ones in our Max Spielman having them done and the staff were great with one particularly difficult toddler. Not sure if all their shops do it tho.

Did this at the weekend actually, in a booth, DS1 age 3 and DS2 age 2.

Wound stool thing all the way up, put a folded coat on it and still couldn't get their faces into the circle on the screen.

DH had to crumple himself down in the bottom of the booth, holding child above his head while I peeped in making kids laugh and checking DHs hands could not be seen in picture.

DS1 was done on 2nd attemp with a scowl and DS2 posed beautifully with a beaming grin.

Postoffice woman said they were fine as kids are allowed a non neutral expression and to have their head slightly at an angle and stuff.

Was quite easy actually and not half as bad as I had expected.

Klick shops do it, they put them on a nice cushion on the floor. We did this for our LO 8 months, it worked a treat. Apparently the passport office doesn't accept home done ones anymore?? (not sure if it's true though)
