Anyone used a kids "once a day" sun lotion? Any recommendation on brands to try?

I would recommend this
it is expensive but worth it
riemann

I've used that and its good, but is it ok for kids?

We use Boots - simplier for school days. Seems fine, but then we havent' had any really hot days and they are not out in it all the time.

I like the Piz Buin, its less sticky than the Boots, which is also good, but quite thick.

Thanks for you recommendations. Its not clear whether the P20 is suitable for kids - its only SPF20 and I guess most kids formulations are between 30 - 50, no?

i use p20 myself but not on dd. i asked about it before on here and there was something to do with it protects from uva but not uvb, or the other way around.

i have just got some ultrasun from t k maxx. aparently that is better than p20 but i have yet to try it out.qvc also sell it, but i got mine cheaper for t k maxx.

I used P20 before I discovered Pizbuin. Its VERY sticky, you're coated in the stuff, which forms a thin layer, and which has to dry before you put your clothes on, and that takes about 20 mins. For awkwardness of application on children, I'd say no.

Secondly, I'd still get "singed" on Woolacombe beach in August wearing P20, but the Piz buin has provided all day protection

I ? if its ok for kids because it seemed very 'chemically' when I used it and sunscreen generally isn't too great for kids anyway.

lizandlulu · 29/06/2008 21:09

marybs, it was the other way around with me and my friend. i used p20 and didnt burn, my mate had piz buin and got 'singed'! i suppose it depends on your skin, although we are quite alike.
the piz buin was very nice to apply, but i have no problems with the p20 and prefer it to a cream.
piz buin is on BOGOF at superdrug though!

Furball · 29/06/2008 21:25

just be aware of p20 it never used to have any UVB protection leaving you really vunerable to skin cancer. I belive it now does but just check it has both UVA and UVB protection.

we use Piz buin factor 30 all day and have also used Ultrasun. Both very good. Boots soltan is 6 hours and I've found it stains clothes brown???? if you've been wearing them ontop. OK it washes out but still.

I have used Piz Buin when on city breaks during the day but would most certainly not use it on myself for a full day sunbathing and never on a child. It is too drying and I would imagine the others to be the same. It's therefore bad for your skin.
