Evening all,

We are going to Italy on Tuesday and hiring a car. I have read and re-read all of the info sent (hiring via Ryanair) and made sure we have the voucher, license, insurance etc. etc. have just come across a random Instagram post that mentions an International Driving Permit and now I'm having a flap! As far as I can see we don't need one, as have British passports issued on mainland UK. But because it says non-EU, I am flapping. Customer service now closed. Can anyone help? Thank you very much.

You are fine for a holiday in Italy. A few non EU countries require the international driving permit. You need a credit card for the deposit - I've seen people turned away for only having a debit card.

Thank you so much! We have a credit card in the main driver's name - checked and double checked that we know the pin and that it works (don't use them in person very often so did a trial run at the shop!)
