Websites for London hotels

Can anyone recommend a good hotel search browser for London hotels? We’re looking for a semi-luxury hotel room for one night in close proximity of the British Library in October (to fit with work but to celebrate 10yr wedding anniversary). Booking.com is my usual go to but isn’t giving me anything I like the look of,
and I don’t really know where else to look (not Airbnb)

Expedia, hotels.com

Obviously there is the St Pancras hotel but it's pricy. There are lots of the chain hotels but tbh Euston Rd is a busy road so to me it's not where I'd want to stay for a special occasion.

If you would be prepared to go a bit further, there are quite a few near Russell Square/British museum which is probably a nicer area and walking distance to the British Library.

Maybe try a website like Mr & Mrs Smith for ideas.

Forgot there is also The Standard near Kings Cross. The restaurant there gets good reviews.

I don't know if there are any specific search engines for just semi-luxury London hotels!
If booking.com wasn't cutting it, search on trip advisor for the best rated hotels in that vicinity and then search for specific reviews for just those hotels you are looking at.

Trivago searches them all.

Thank you! I’ll try some of those search engines. I just wondered if there was a sneaky trick to finding great hotels in London that might not be on everyone’s radar. I book multi location holidays across Europe with no issue but struggling to find what I want in London!

Another thought is trying on lastminute secret hotels. I didn't realise they were still a thing but here is the link. I used it years ago abroad and often, you can work out which hotel it is.
