Holiday over Christmas

Where is best to head to
for a week over Xmas with 2 primary aged boys?? Thinking abroad as normally do centre parcs but some sun would be lovely as we all need a break!

I’m childless but we’ve been thinking about a lodge holiday in England. The first week in January. Just not found a good site yet.

would your kids like forest holidays? That’s one of the ones on our list.

A colleague was in Gran Canaria last year with his 10 year old daughter, they loved it, warm enough to be outside but they did Christmas really low key, no big decorations, no large meal. They did all this when they came home on the 29th.

We were in Tenerife a few years back in the October Half Term (got home 30th Oct) the shopping mall opposite us was Full On Christmas .
So if you wanted festive , you can still find it .

We go to Estepona Southern Spain for two weeks or more over Christmas every year. I don't like Christmas at home, (no kids), and do it to escape the frenzy and enjoy inexpensive food and drink too! It's a very nice town, and Christmas Day is very low key which is perfect for us. Buses running, some shops and supermarkets open, restaurants and cafes buzzing etc.

The weather is hit and miss I will admit, but it's usually ok overall. I take bus trips all over by myself as DH is not that mobile, prefers to sit on the deck and read a book/newspaper. So far I trekked off to Ronda, Gibraltar, Malaga city, and plenty more.

However if it's real holiday vibe you're after, I'd say any of the Canaries are your best bet, especially with kids. I just got a bit excited there thinking of our Christmas in Spain ha ha. 😊
