Tell me all about what you love to do in Rome. We are going as a family soon.

Eat pizza in the Ivo sports bar in Trastavere.
Stumble across ancient ruins when just ambling along.
People watch.

The Scavi tour is amazing. I also enjoyed the Art deco architecture at EUR. Ostia Antica is also amazing.

I wanted to escape the crowds one day in Rome so I took a wander to find the poet John Keats’ grave and it was beautiful and completely peaceful.

Leave it and go to Santa Mainella or Anzio! I lived in Rome for a few years about 23 years ago and my favourite part was always leaving the city and heading out to the coastal towns surrounding Rome, particularly in summer! Far more authentic, charming and peaceful.

If you do stick to the 'city', then absolutely do Saint Peter’s Basilica & Dome. Vatican City was always my favourite place to go to. Not sure if it would be the same these days, but it was always more peaceful than Rome and the people less...rowdy.

We are off to Italy in 2 weeks time visiting Rome, Florence and Venice. In Rome we are doing the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, Saint Peter's Basilica, Vatican, Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps and Rione Monti for shopping. Lots of sightseeing in the summer heat, luckily our hotel has a swimming pool, the rooms are air conditioned and have a terrace or balcony.

Mr 100 is a specialist tiramisu cafe with exactly 100 different flavours!
My DD’s favourite thing to do is visit one of the Legami boutiques!

Ostia Antica in the morning, combined with an afternoon by the beach in Ostia Lido. Half an hour by train from Porta San Paolo in the city. Ostia Antica is just an amazing place, far better than Pompeii with none of the crowds and there's a little village/town beside it for pizza and grub/vino. Special.

Chiesa St. Ignatius Loyola. The ceiling is unbelievable, and you look at it from a mirror in the nave. Another special! It's not far from Trevi.
