Hi I wonder if anyone can help. We are looking for a villa based holiday for next year but would like the area to have a walkable town - we are not keen on party areas as will have young ish children with us - we have done puerto pollensa before and really enjoyed it ! Any advice welcome ! Thank you in advance (total of 9 people - 4 adults 5 children)

I was going to come on to suggest Pollenca! The inland one. We had a brilliant holiday there, small, beautiful, not overwhelmingly busy even in the school holidays. Still about 10/15 mins to the beach

We just came back from Alvor. Stayed at Pestana Alvor beach villas. Had a great time, beach across from accommodation, 5km promenade and 10/15 min walk into the village. A bit pricey in the summer though https://www.pestana.com/en/hotel/pestana-alvor-beach-villas?utm_campaign=pestana-alvor-beach-villas-partoo&utm_medium=organicsearch

I really like Tavira in Portugal. It has the new part of the town on one side of the river and the old town the other, and you get a little river taxi to the beach. It’s also a short commute from Faro airport. I’m not sure how many villas are around the area, we stayed in an apartment with a shared pool.

Alvor is a lovely town, we’ve been a few times, good base if you’re hiring a car.

Corrajelo is a lovely small town with a water park on edge of town - we booked through Villa plus who have several villas where no car is needed https://www.villaplus.com/searchresult

We’ve booked villas through Solmar and they’ve been great. Can’t really recommend a particular one as there’s only been 8 of us.

Another vote for Solmar villas - you can specify villas less than 3km from shops and restaurants and look at the map view to see how close to town they are. We’re looking at Majorca at the moment, some good value to be had.

Villamoura in Portugal is nice. We’ve also done PP. Just check where you are staying, if you want to walk into town, make sure you are not at one of the edge of town Golf courses.

Villa plus are good, we’ve booked through them before and the villas usually have a pool table/ping pong. Customer services very responsive too.
