Recommendations for child-friendly holiday parks near Calais for self-catering

We are looking to take DD7 and a small baby to France for a self catering holiday at the beginning of the school holiday.

Baby will obviously need breaks from the seat very frequently so we need something as close to Calais as possible, we've decided to take the ferry so we can have a few hours break from the car but happy hear thoughts on this vs the channel tunnel.

We've done many trips to France and often drive on to Belgium, Germany etc and stay in self catering accommodation rather than on parks but conscious of having a small baby I thought it would be nice for DD to stay somewhere with pool, slides, activities etc

In terms of accommodation as long as its safe, reasonably comfortable and has enough room we're happy to stay somewhere basic. We have enough room in the car for a travel cot, high car and pram, so not a deal breaker if we need to take those with us.

Any recommendations for specific parks or companies to use, or any tips on choosing a park welcome :)

We have fond memories of La Bien Assise. It’s not too big but has enough to do onsite and it’s not too far from a nice beach either.

If you’ve got the budget, could you look into the longer overnight ferries? Gets you much further into France and away from the Uk weather!

Weve done Portsmouth - St Malo or Santander before and the ferries are great and you get your own cabin.

Domaine de Drancourt. Book through Yelloh. It’s about 1h20m from Calais. Nice size, near a beautiful town, lovely pool area perfect for kids, bouncy castle, and lots of trees

I second the Yelloh parks. Drancourt is lovely, close to Calais, very green and not too big. If you get a ferry to Caen area, then Yelloh caprieuce or Yelloh portland would work too. Both have fabulous indoor pools for your kids.

Yes that’s the one. It has lovely pale soft sand!

Pierre et Vacances? Belle Dune is near the beach and has waterpark and activities for kids onsite. Book accommodation a size up from what you need.

This place is only an hour's drive from Calais and is good, it has the big indoor pool complex like Center Parcs:

It's not right by the beach - you'd need to hop in the car (a very short drive) or ride bikes, all very cycle-friendly. There is a long, wide promenade along the beaches which is very child-friendly with play areas and ride-ons to hire.

CenterParcs at De Haan is quite nice. The beach is lovely there too, Can you use the coastal tram to go up and down.
